Fatal Fables
By: Stephen Vincent Kobasa
Article: A domestic illustration involving a skeleton and a coffee cup would appear ominous on the wall of a local cafe, but Lulu has no fear, and has invited David Ferreira to show his "X-Ray Wife" and other colorful examples of his work at the eponymous coffee shop, Lulu's.

Retrospect Solo Show: Nolia Gallery - Amherst, NH
40 plus pieces filled the gallery as David took a look back at his older
work that no one had seen before, as well as some "sure to surpise" new pieces. Everyone enjoyed seeing such a variety of work. The different subject matters and mediums gave this show tremendous energy and intrique. Majority of the pieces are from the Nashua Telegraph spanning the last four years. The Nasua Telegraph also did a story on the opening, interviewing David and the show's visitors throughout the night.
This Solo show was a large undertaking for David. It's the most work he's shown to date. It included pieces seven years old to current. It was a great opportunity for people to see his progression of style and subject matter. There was truely something for everyone.

Elsewhere Exhibition: Mingo Gallery - Beverly, MA
It was a scorcher of an evening, but that did not stop the people flowing in and out of the gallery of the Elsewhere opening reception. David Ferreira and Adam Miller put on a colorful and fantastical display of work that everyone clearly enjoyed viewing.
David exhibited new paintings that contained some of his favorite subject matter; octopus, sparrows, antlers and bugs. The pieces were successful at striking up conversation as folks debated about the artists' intentions as well as their own thoughts on the subjects.
David also showed a series of six original ink drawings that he did under one hour each. These drawings ranged from an interesting take on a dumpster to a squirrel playing chess in the park. They amused and intrigued the crowd and offered some good laughs. These drawings are an excellent example of Davids innate ability to look at the world with a unique perspective — finding a story to share in everything around him.
The show also included more traditional illustration-based paintings and a figure painting. This show presented a great deal of discovery by David and offered a great deal of discovery to the crowd.
